The incident occurred on Saturday evening, prompting immediate action from the Delhi Fire Department, which received an emergency call around 7 pm. 

 Immediate Response and Investigation

The Delhi Fire Department swiftly responded to the distress call, with the caller indicating the possibility of people trapped in the rapidly flooding basement. DCP (Central Delhi) M Harshavardhan stated, "We are investigating how the entire basement was flooded. It appeared that the basement got flooded very fast due to which some people were trapped inside."



Protests Erupt in Response to Tragedy

In the wake of the tragedy, fellow students held a protest, voicing their outrage and demanding accountability from the authorities. The demonstrators raised slogans, expressing their grief and frustration over the preventable nature of the incident.
