The face of India's highways is set to change dramatically with the announcement from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari mentioned that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has formulated a comprehensive master plan for the national highways to improve logistics. This master plan includes the development of expressways and high-speed highways, created under the PM Gatishakti Framework, which relies on data analysis from e-way bills (GST), tolls, and traffic surveys.

Addressing project delays, the minister noted that 697 national highway projects, initiated around a decade ago, have surpassed their original completion timelines.
